Trees for Water need your help!

Trees for Water, one of UBoC’s vetted projects in India, is currently seeing funding to support an extension of their scheme.

With the monsoon season behind them, farmers are now preparing the ground by levelling and ploughing, and are ready for a modest amount of cash to pay for trees.

With just a little over a decade to halve emissions, the one thing we can all do easily is plant more trees. And this scheme is not only harvesting carbon, but helping to prevent flash flooding – with potentially disastrous top-soil loss – while also retaining vital water locally, in an area strongly affected by Monsoon rainfall, which otherwise rushes away downhill leaving damaged and dry soils which don’t support food production.

The photos below show that trees supplied by Lions Club International District 105NE and UBoC planted in 2016/17 by CIRHEP are now growing strongly.
