Each year at the University of Leeds, the work of staff and students championing sustainability is celebrated with the Sustainability Awards.
UBoC’s Natural Capital and Woodland Creation Officer, Anna Gugan, was awarded the Outreach Award, which recognises people going beyond the University to achieve sustainability goals with external organisations.
Anna was nominated for her commitment to sharing knowledge and research with the external partners that we work with, to help inform climate change strategies and sustainability goals. Anna uses the research that we carry out at the university to support a wide range of external partners, including local authorities, other charities, and schools. The award recognises her commitment to mitigating climate change and delivering sustainability in her local and wider community. Anna demonstrates the fantastic things that can be achieved when we build strong partnerships and share knowledge.
We are so thrilled that Anna won this award! It’s a shame we weren’t able to have a party this year. Virtual balloons and cake it is! You can read more about the University of Leeds Sustainability Awards here, and find out about the other awards and nominees.
